Health, Safety and Premises Manager

36 hours per week (full-time)

Northern College has been graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and we are looking for someone to join the College who can contribute to our continued success. Northern College offers a wide range of adult learning provision including; literacy, numeracy and return to study courses, enrichment activities, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, Higher Education courses and a varied programme of Trade Union Studies. Set in beautiful parklands and with excellent facilities, Northern College for Residential Adult Education has a powerful reputation for the quality of its services.

This challenging role involves a wide remit combining both Health and Safety and Premises Management. You will manage the College Health and Safety systems and processes to ensure both legal compliance and good practice are embedded across the College. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Premises team to ensure a flexible and responsive Cleaning, Caretaking and Maintenance service is provided across the college campus. You will have experience in a Premises Management role along with proven experience in the application of Health and Safety regulations and guidelines. You will undertake risk assessments, liaise with external contractors and advise the Senior Leadership Team on all Health and Safety matters. You will possess an NVQ Level 4 qualification in a relevant Facilities Management discipline, or a relevant equivalent qualification, along with at least a NEBOSH General Certificate.
