Hampshire has a diverse natural environment, rich in habitats of international, national and regional importance for nature conservation. A motivated and organised person is required to assist the County Council and other local authorities in Hampshire in their development planning work to ensure that decisions on development within the County are sensitive to the conservation of this biodiversity.
You will undertake assessments of planning applications, provide advice during the preparation of development plans and advise on local authority development.
You should have an appropriate degree/professional qualification and relevant experience. You should also have good knowledge of ecology, ecological impact assessment and habitat restoration techniques, and be familiar with environmental legislation.
Job purpose
To provide technical ecological advice to ensure that development is in accordance with corporate objectives for sustainable development and biodiversity.
